It was great to hear of the recognition that long-standing customer and collaborator Professor Sheryl Barringer (The Ohio State University) received recently. Sheryl and her co-workers won a Tanner Award from the Institute for Food Technologists (IFT) for being the most-cited paper published in the Sensory and Food Quality section of the Journal of Food Science in 2014 (see the editorial).
Dr Barringer’s group used SIFT-MS as part of their study titled: “Oven, Microwave, and Combination Roasting of Peanuts: Comparison of Inactivation of Salmonella Surrogate Enterococcus faecium, Color, Volatiles, Flavor, and Lipid Oxidation”. You can access the paper here.
